COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF GLOBAL SKILLS REPORT 2020 INDIAN SKILLS REPORT 2020 AND WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM REPORT

Skills reports being interlinked in their analysis seek to attain a better skill ranking index by analyzing the present scenario and current global positioning of countries by highlighting the trends country-wise and globally but there are subtle limitations associated with it.

Global Skills Report 2020 elucidates global skill rankings of the countries in the fields of Business, Technology, and Data Science. It portrays that Switzerland, the first rank holder in the 'cutting edge' subdivision in the field of Business while India with 34 ranks is in "Emerging State', in the field of Technology with the rank forty where Russia wins the crown in the "Cutting Edge".Alarmingly India (51 ranks) lags behind in Data science where Russia tops in "Cutting Edge" which reflects cohesion with the Indian Skill Report (2020) Analysis

INFERENCES FROM INDIAN SKILLS REPORT

India Skills Reform discusses the transformation and change of job landscape and suggests the impact of demography, globalisation, political, environment and industry in the laborforce as Economy's growth and development can be fostered and reinforced by Government initiatives and up-gradation of technology. The landscape of workforce goes hand in hand with evolving requirements of the industry keeping central theme on supply and demand side of the talent and value chain, employability of student, readiness for jobs and demand preference of Job seekers, implementational and betterment of skilling in India for parents, students, corporates, academia, training, agencies policymakers, portrays the positive contribution of GST providing transparent and corruption-free ecosystem added to the bottom line of large or small businesses.

Apart from that WNET and Students Employability Test is reached out to students thereby analyses cognitive ability, English, behavioral traits, domain knowledge, dimensions of business such as communication, critical thinking, numerical reasoning, learning agility, etc which are considered to be the Supply Side. A poor ratio of gender parity among males and women is portrayed in the report which equals 71:29 and the situation is very alarming hence to remove the barriers and Gaps of Skills.


EFFECTIVE MEASURES TO BE UNDERTAKEN


The report emphasizes several initiatives for the governments to undertake such as a change in policy to showcase labor issues, supporting women workers, promotion of internships, programs,women-friendly initiatives by incentivizing corporates, Revision of Academia curriculum and establishment of institutes for training, simultaneously industries should reskill workforce which should fit requirements of the industry. Colleges can adapt training centers to teach skills to people and establishing equal opportunity for working men and women. Programs like returning mom are mention-worthy. Academia should stress on updating curriculum as per industrial requirements along with improvisation of the education system by up-gradation of infrastructural facilities, labs, research centers, students line up with industry trends and adaptability to the changing work environment in order to attain better skill index ranking to compete and stand with Global Job market it is significant to revise the former talent map and hence internet of things machine learning, artificial intelligence is germinating abruptly. India should encourage more women participation in the workforce being in the top 10 list with the lowest women participation rate in the workforce by breaking all social stereotypical barriers and promoting safety measures, schemes, policies. The report of World Economic Forum revolves around a list of top roles, required skills, emerging employments in sections like Care Economy and certain key factors for instance demand for digital and human intervention, emerging professional groups and highest growth of employment in future. The report focuses on the importance of additional learning and the shift of economic growth deeply impacted the demand for skill-sets and employment.


CONCLUDING REMARKS AND FINDINGS

As concluding remarks it can be noted that though strategies for removing skill gaps were mentioned certain subtle issues like definition and typologies of skills, purpose, and importance of it and even the ways and strategies and implementational mechanization by which improvisation of skills can be done are neglected which can be considered as the limitations as stress is more on ranking and indexing neglecting the factors behind marking.
